Hampus was founded 2001 in the spirit of Hampus and Fideli from the TV-series “The White Stone”. The interaction between creativity, nature and play shown in the series laid the foundation for the mindset of Hampus playgrounds.
The first years of the company built on the creativity of Tommy Troelsen and Svend Erik Støvlbæk, who became pioneers in production and design of natural playgrounds. This was a completely new profession, turning the first years into one long development process, as everything had to be created from scratch.
In 2004, the company entered a new phase. The basic knowledge of quality and design was tested with the Hampus design beginning to take shape. The hooked branches of oak trees are often used to define the shapes of towers, playhouses and sculptures. Hampus is now a leader in developing techniques for processing the crooked and curved elements, and we are defining the high crafting standards within the industry.
In 2007 Hampus begins to export – primarily to Sweden and Norway, and with a single adventure in South Korea.
In 2017, Svend Støvlbæk Hansen and Gert W. Josephsen begin to cooperate. The concept of Hampus is streamlined and canvassing is introduced to increase sales. A new and exciting development has begun, enabling many more children to enjoy our adventurous creations – you can follow this development on our Facebook page and Instagram.
